There are no "wrong" truths to share, Ted, as you clearly know. All creative writing is self-indulgent, by definition, and that's certainly an essential ingredient of memoir-style essays -- as baked-in as flour is in oven creations.

So thanks for indulging in self-reflection and generously sharing the emotions, lessons and observations. They're as yeasty and enticing as fresh bread.

This latest essay resonates deeply five months after my German immigrant mom’s death at age 106, the finale of a remarkable saga of wartime survival, reinvention and resilience.
