My mom always used Kraft Singles — I never even knew of the existence of Velveeta until I was about 10. Remind me to tell you the Bisquick story sometime if you haven't heard it.
“It's almost a feeling of cheese nearby.” Love it. But now I’m hankering for grilled cheese with tomato soup. And forgive me, but the whole time I was contemplating, what would happen if you did a BassOmatic on this? I mean, Italy has entire culinary traditions of blending bread into tomato soups. So maybe a grilled cheese pureed into tomato soup… You’d have to get the ratios right, of course… Disturbing, but possibly delicious. Which might make a good cookbook title…
Next time you're sick have pastina in brodo instead. My nonna would highly recommend it.
Fun yarn, Ted!
Thank you!

Oh MAN I wish I'd thought of that. Good cite.
"A feeling of cheese." Just lovely. 🧀💛
Belatedly, thank you! I had another can of it and it was still only a feeling of cheese nearby.
Delightful. I smiled through every sentence. But I kept thinking Velveeta in lieu of Kraft. 💕

I’ll remind you. 💕
I like grilled cheese a lot. At least some of that has to do with the texture of the sandwich.
Also, RIP Anwar Sadat
I think we often underestimate texture.
Tasty riff, Ted. Glad we still can enjoy the original flavor and texture of your words, rather than some lab or A.I. simulation of the real thing.
The Xerox sentence has quite savory brain feel.
Thanks on Xerox!

Can you write that cookbook, please? Maybe “Mashup Mania.”
